Greenroom Festival 2012 lead up

I am so pumped to be invited back to Greenroom Festival in Yokohama, JP this May 19-20th!
It will be my 4th Greenroom and my 2nd personal works exhibiting amongst the other artists. I have always been blessed going and shooting for The Critical Slide Society (TCSS), for their blog and other events we do in the 2 weeks we are in Japan.
Every year I go to Japan I gain more amazing new friends from all around the world. Those friendships I hold very closely still to this day......

My trip to California in 3 weeks is going to give me some fresh new pictures for my show. Pretty darn excited. I basically go to Cali for 2 weeks (which is already jammed packed with fun), fly to Melbourne for 3 days seeing family, back to Sydney for a week to get my photos ready and printed, then head to Tokyo, frame my prints over there, hang the show, sing karaoke and have some beers!

I'm all set.

Here's my write up in Japanese on the Greenroom website-

Go get "Ty-ed up" this wkd with Ty Williams

I met Ty at Greenroom Festival back in May this year. We bonded like peas and carrots (or wasabi and soy sauce) over our 'Lost in Translation' moments and many Asahi.

He paints some amazingly beautiful shiz that is especially showing at Insight's Venice Beach store this wkd. Holy heckmet I wish I were gonna be there! Not only coz its middle of winter here in Oz but this gonna be a fine showing of Ty's work!!!

Sleeping Beauty

Look at that joy

He was a little jet-lagged or pretending to be asleep so he wouldnt have to sing during karaoke? Ty? Ty? Maybe.....no?

Japan 2011

I cant believe its come around so fricken fast! I fly out this Saturday 14th to Tokyo!!! Yeeeew!

Since the tsunami 2 months ago, I was real unsure about going back as one could imagine. Buuuuuut my friends who live there have assured me Japan is finally settling down, getting back to the norm, however still experiencing earthquakes (shit?!). I am nervous and excited to go see Japan after all that has happened...........

I am going to shoot for The Critical Slide Society for the 3rd time! I will be flat out shooting for artist Steven Harrington show in Harajuku May 17th. We have bump in May 19th, the Opening on the 20th then 2 days of Greenroom Festival which I am exhibiting at for the 1st time (excellent!)

Greenroom wont be the same without the majority of American and Aussie surfers like the last 2 years, but hey it'll still be fun all the same!

TCSS also have a show on May 24th too. Im gonna be crazy busy over there but super looking forward to it. No one goes to Japan to relax anyway (however a traditional onsen with my friend Angie in Ichinomiya will have to be done)

Oh! and I've been listening to a lot of Ray Barbee and Whitest Boy Alive lately too. Ray Barbee meets the Mattson 2 played Greenroom '09, so his music always brings me back to that time..........
